Manchester City's Javier Garrido honestly believes that Manchester City can topple Manchester United and become the biggest club in England.
Sorry Man City fans but that isn't going to happen. If Manchester City are going to become the biggest club in England then they are going to have to start winning things and over a period of time. Not just start winning things like Chelsea did but win things over decades of years, that gives you the right to say that you are the biggest club in England.
Garrido has said that they club will need time, fair enough but City aren't going to become the biggest team whilst he is playing football, it is going to take a lot longer than that.
Garrido said:
"United have had some great years in the Premier League and in Europe and it is difficult for people at City. There are many United fans all over the country, but in the city, in Manchester, there are a lot of City fans,"
"I also think United have a solid base with famous players that have played [together] for a long time, but with money things can be done. Time is required and little-by-little our situation will improve.
"To be able to challenge for the Premier League or to be in the top four against Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal needs time. We hope to be able to [compete with] or surpass United in seasons to come.
"That is the ambition and the owners are working towards that. We have signed some great players this season and in the summer we will see what the club intends to do.
Personally I can't see this happening.
Oh dear! Someone dares to plot the down fall of Man Utd! I hope it happens, like you suggest over a decade or two, the longer it lasts the better as far as I'm concerned.
