After going in the FA Cup on penalties last Sunday, Manchester United have a very important match tonight in the Premier League. Last night Liverpool went top of the Premier League (only on goal difference and United have two games in hand) after an amazing 4-4 draw against Arsenal (thanks Arsenal!!!). Tonight we face Portsmouth.
We did play extra time on Sunday but it was a very young side out so I don't think that, that should be a problem. I expect wholesale changes and a win. Liverpool's draw yesterday should give us extra impotence to go ahead and get the win.
This could be a landmark game for Paul Scholes, if he plays tonight then it will be his 600th appearance for Manchester United.
Edwin Van Der Sar, Cristiano Ronaldo, Darren Fletcher, Wayne Rooney and Ryan Giggs were all missing in the FA Cup game but are all expected to return tonight to try and put the Red Devils three points ahead of Liverpool, with a game in hand.
Michael Carrick is a major doubt for the game but at least we have Fletcher fit, we also have Paul Scholes and Anderson.
Portsmouth are without midfielder Nico Kranjcar after he suffered an ankle injury in during their 1-0 win over Bolton, they may also be without Younes Kaboul who is doubtful after suffering a thigh strain.
