Manchester United defender Rafael Da Silva has signed a two-year contract extension which will see him at the club upto 2013, this is fantastic news for the club. Rafael has proved to be a great defender in his first season at the club, he has had an injury or two and he is young but I honestly believe that he will become a world class defender.
Rafael and his identical twin brother Fabio agreed a deal to join United in February 2007 but didn't join United until January 2008 but were unable to play until they turned 18 which was in July 2008.
Rafael made his first appearance in a friendly match against Peterborough United on the 4th August 2008 and he wears the number 21 shirt.
So far Rafael has made 24 appearances for Man United, scoring one goal which was against Arsenal at the Emirates.
