It has been revealed today (by the British papers) that Manchester United are closing in on the signing of the next Brazilian superstar (apparently he is the next Ronaldinho) Douglas Costa.

Costa is only 18 years old, he is a midfield player and he currently plays for Gremio. Gremio recently have turned down an £8million bid from Villarreal for Costa.

It is thought that Liverpool, Real Madrid (ofcourse) and Inter Milan are also tracking the young star. He does have a Portuguese passport which means that he wouldn't need a work permit to come and play in the county.

Costa scored on his first team debut for Gremio and immediately made an impression. Gremio have secured Costa's services until 2013 but there is an estimated £21 million release clause.

Chris Nathaniel, Costa’s advisor said: “The boy is special and loves the Premier League. He has a lot of offers to consider.”
