I can't believe it is the final day of the 2008/09 Premier League season tomorrow. It only seems like yesterday when Manchester United drew 1-1 against Liverpool at Old Trafford on the opening weekend.
Tomorrow Man United travel to Hull City, we may not have anything to play for except for Pride but Hull are fighting for their Premier League lives. Sir Alex Ferguson is expected to field a younger Manchester United side because three days later we have the Champion's League final.
Hull have nearly a full strength squad, the only players that they will be missing are Jimmy Bullard, Ian Ashbee and Anthony Gardner, all these players have been suffering from long term injuries.
Edwin Van Der Sar, Carlos Tevez, Dimitar Berbatov, Patrice Evra, John O'Shea, Ryan Giggs, Rafael da Silva, Paul Scholes, Anderson, Wayne Rooney, Michael Carrick and Cristiano Ronaldo have all been left out of the squad. Ronaldo is currently joint top of the Premier League's top scorers alongside Chelsea's Nicolas Anelka. Anelka should play in Chelsea's game tomorrow so don't be surprised if Ronaldo finishes second.
Rio Ferdinand and Wes Brown look like they will be fit for tomorrows game which is a massive injury boost ahead of the final. Sir Alex Ferguson may hand the captains armband over Darren Fletcher who can't play in the final, it will show the appreciation of everyone associated with Man United.
Squads:
Hull: Myhill, Ricketts, Turner, Zayatte, Dawson, Garcia, Boateng, Barmby, Geovanni, Fagan, Halmosi, Folan, Mendy, Marney, Cousin, Kilbane, Featherstone, Cooper, Doyle, Hughes, France, Duke.
Man United: Kuszczak, Amos, Neville, Brown, De Laet, Ferdinand, Chester, Eckersley, Simpson, Fabio, Nani, Fletcher, Gibson, Tosic, Martin, Drinkwater, Macheda, Welbeck.
Tomorrow is one of the very few occasions that I wouldn't be in a foul mood if United loose. I would quite like Hull to stay up so a draw wouldn't be such a bad result.
