There has been some bad news ahead of the Champion's League final tonight, a Manchester United fan has been stabbed in his leg outside his hotel in Rome.
Rome authorities have confirmed that the fan has been hospitalised and it receiving treatment for a knife-wound to his thigh. The fan was attacked near his hotel by four suspects but nobody has been arrested.
This is the only attack so far so that is some good news but two other fans have been arrested for drunk and disorderly, it is not known if they were Man United fans or Barcelona.
I may not like Man Utd but this stabbing on the build up to such a high profile game is a sad state of affairs. The person stabbed is apparently in his 50s so as such not a steriotypical thug who got some of this own medicine. If this would have happened in England I'm suspecting the press would have a field day about English football violence. I hope Rome / Italy takes some form of punishment.
