Man United Through, Fletcher Shown Red

ARSENAL V MANCHESTER UNITED, CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SEMI FINAL SECOND LEG.

There were mixed feelings after Manchester United's 3-1 (4-1 on aggregate) win over Arsenal in the second leg of the Champion's League semi-final game at the Emirates. The win took us into the Champion's League final but Darren Fletcher was sent off when the referee showed him a straight red.

Fletcher had been fantastic for United and it is a massive shame that he will miss the final, especially when you consider that he would have probably played a part and that it wasn't a sending off. Fletcher should be allowed to appeal but in this case the only way United can appeal if it is a case of mistaken identity. We can't appeal a refereeing mistake which is ridiculous.

Man United's man of the match had to be Cristiano Ronaldo, we saw the Ronaldo last night that we saw last season. He was devastating and it was great to see him back to his normal self.

Arsenal started off the better team and played the best I had seen them over the two matches until the 11th minute when Arsenal's 19 year old defender Kieran Gibbs slipped in the penalty area and Ji-Sung Park was able to hit Ronaldo's ball in, into the back of the net.

Just three minutes later and Man United had a second away goal and what a goal it was. Man United had a freekick from 41 yards out, Ronaldo took it and the ball flew past Almunia and United were 2-0 up.

United were nearly 3-0 up after only 18 minutes when Rooney's shot was clawed away by Almunia. Not long after that, Ronaldo headed wide from a United corner.

Man United were dominant in the first half and it didn't change in the second. Man United's third goal was the best of the night and it summed Man United up brilliantly.
United were defending an Arsenal corner, Nemanja Vidic got the ball away to Ronaldo, Ronaldo found Park around 20 yards out from the United penalty area, Park played Wayne Rooney in and Rooney's ball into the box found Ronaldo who knocked the ball into the back of the net, 13 seconds after United had defended a corner.

The bad news on the night came at around 15 minutes from time when Fletcher made a fantastic tackle on Cesc Fabregas in the penalty area. Fletcher was shown a red card and Arsenal had a penalty which was put away by Robin Van Persie.

Manchester United will now be in two consecutive Champion's League finals, we can either play the other of last years Champion's League finalists Chelsea or the team we played in last years Champion's League semi-finals, Barcelona.
