Hargreaves Set To Retire

It looks like Manchester United midfielder might be forced to retire out of top flight football within two years. Owen Hargreaves has had operations to to cure tendinitis in both knees but he is still experiencing pain.

Since joining Man United in 2007 for £17 million, Hargreaves has only made 37 appearances. It is claimed that he may not be fit in time for the beginning of the 2009/10 campaign. It also looks like he may have to retire within two years.

This is awful news for both Man United and Hargreaves. When fit he is a fantastic player and it was clear in Rome that we needed a player like him. To me, it isn't surprising news but with modern technology hopefully we can find a way to help him get through it.

Hargreaves is still confident that he can get over it and make a full recovery.
