Manchester United flew (not literally) into the final of the Audi Cup after beating Boca Juniors 2-1. Antonio Valencia made his debut for Man United and it was a very impressive debut.
Federico Macheda and Wayne Rooney were paired for yesterday's attacking team but it was Anderson who opened up the scoring. Anderson curled in a fantastic free-kick from outside the penalty area. There was nothing that goalkeeper Roberto Abbondanzieri could have done, this was Anderson's first ever goal for Man United.
35 minutes in and there was a bad sight for Man United fans, Wes Brown limped off with an injury, he went straight off down the tunnel. Minutes later, Rio Ferdinand came on as a replacement.
Rooney didn't have his shooting boots on for the first 40 minutes but five minutes before half time, he was denied twice by Abbondanzieri after connecting onto Valencia's cross in.
A Minute later, Valencia opened up his Man United scoring account. Valencia received the ball from Rooney, he then went past two defenders and had a shot at goal. The ball went underneath Abbondanzieri's body and into the back of the net.
The second half finally got underway after Boca Juniors came out five minutes later than Man United.
52 minutes in and Boca were back into the game after Insua volleyed Gary Medel's ball in from the right straight past Tomaz Kuszczak.
That gave Boca more confidence and they were having more and more chances. Riquelme shot wide and not long after that Man United defender Craig Cathcart headed the ball over United's crossbar.
Man United held onto the win and we now face Bayern Munich in the final tonight. Last night Bayern beat AC Milan 4-1.
Like I said earlier, Valencia made an impressive debut, his first few touches were nervy but he did improve. It was great to see Valencia scoring on his debut, this should now give him confidence and he can go on and score more.
I think I was more happy to see Anderson score, over the past few matches he has been getting closer and closer.
