Man United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that Man United and Chelsea snubbed Emmanuel Adebayor after he had agreed a deal with Manchester City. Fergie has also labelled Man City as a 'small' club.
Ferguson told the BBC: “It's City isn't it? They're a small club with a small mentality”
“All they can talk about is Manchester United; they can't get away from it."
"They think taking Carlos Tevez away from Manchester United is a triumph. It is poor stuff”.

Sir Alex has also been speaking to the Sunday Mirror, apparently Adebayor was desperate to go to either Man United or Chelsea.
“At the last minute, I know Adebayor or his agent phoned us after he had agreed a deal with City - then he did the same to Chelsea,” he Fergie told the Sunday Mirror.
“You ask why is he going to Manchester City and it can only be for one reason. He was desperate to get to Chelsea and us.”
I think that we all really knew that anyway. Arsenal are in the Champion's League, they may not be the strongest of the top four teams but they are more likely to win something that Man City.
Finally, Sir Alex has hinted that Carlos Tevez' departure may not be such as bad thing.
“I won't have to deal with some players who are miserable because they are not playing,” he added.
“I have good professionals here so I don't have to worry about that now.”
