Foster To Start Against Stoke

MANCHESTER UNITED V VALENCIA CF

We all know that goalkeeper Ben Foster didn’t have the best of matches against Manchester City last Sunday. Tomasz Kuszczak replaced Foster in goal on Wednesday but that wasn’t a surprise and the whole starting XI was replaced.

Ahead of tomorrow’s game against Stoke, Man United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that Foster will be in goal tomorrow. Fergie has also revealed that Edwin Van Der Sar is still three weeks away from comeback and Foster should be in goal for the next three weeks.

"Edwin is still three weeks away. It was a good opportunity for Tomasz to play on Wednesday, but Ben will play against Stoke,” Sir Alex said in today’s pre-match news conference.

It’s not really much of a surprise to me, Foster is young and he hasn’t had that many minutes on the pitch over recent years, mainly due to injury. Foster needs the fans backing right now and I think he will get it.
