Man United winger Luis Nani didn’t have the best matches against Stoke City on Saturday. He started the game but he was replaced early on in the second half for Ryan Giggs, who came on and inspired a Man United win.
Ahead of Man United’s Champion’s League game against FC Wolfsburg on Wednesday, Nani will call up former team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo to ask for some advice. Ronaldo left Man United in the summer but they still talk to each other regularly.
Nani said: "Cristiano and I talk a lot. We speak about my own game and he gives me confidence to go out and perform."
Ronaldo has recently been quoted talking about Nani: "Nani is an excellent player and I am sure that in a few years he will be among the best players in the world."
During the game against Stoke, their fans did have their own little chant for Nani- 'You'll never be Ronaldo'. Not very original but right now, it is true. I don’t think it is fair to compare Nani and Ronaldo they are two different players.
Nani has skill; he is fast and has a lot of potential. The problem with him is that he is poor at decision-making and very inconsistent. If he improves those parts of his game, he will be a top player.
I can’t help but think that this could be Nani’s final season to show Sir Alex what he can do on the playing field.
