Weekend Round-Up

Manchester United players wives and friends arrive at Old TraffordToday I am going to start off by saying thank you for all of your birthday messages; they were very kind. I had a fantastic 21st birthday and it was nice to have a weekend off.

I did have the weekend off which means that there is quite a bit to catch up on so I am going to do a weekend round-up.

Man United midfielder Darren Fletcher has said that he would never dive. Ever since Arsenal’s Eduardo dived in the Champion’s League match against Celtic, much has been made on diving. It happens throughout the game and for a player to say that he would never dive, it is a bit of a dangerous thing to do.

One of Man United’s young, highly rated defenders has picked up an injury. Craig Cathcart faces a spell on the sidelines after picking up a hamstring injury. Hopefully he recovers soon.

Le Havre have submitted a case to FIFA. The club have contacted FIFA over the way that Man United signed Paul Pogba. The player wasn’t in contract with the club when he signed for United so I can’t see it going any further.

Man United’s Ryan Giggs has said that when he retires he will stay in the game. He has also said he would like to become a Man United coach, great news. Giggs will finish his playing career in top flight football and hopefully he will have a place at Old Trafford.

Dimitar Berbatov hasn’t been on top form ever since joining Man United but he has said that he is determined to prove his worth. Berbatov has been criticised by some sections of Man United fans but he will now ‘sweat blood’ to get better.

Anderson was linked with a move away from Old Trafford but he has stayed and Man United legend (and reserves manager) Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has given Anderson his backing.

Finally, yesterday Man United’s kids lost 1-0 to Motherwell in the inaugural Sir Matt Busby Shield. Although we lost, the youngsters did themselves and United proud.
