We are still months away from the January transfer window but Man United are still being linked to different players each day. Today, United are being linked with 22-year old Middlesbrough winger Adam Johnson.
The Daily Mirror are reporting that United have joined a list of Premier League clubs who are wanting to snap up the player in the January transfer window. Recently, Johnson has reject offers from the Championship club and he could leave the club this summer on a Bosman free transfer.
Middlesbrough have put a price-tag of £6 million on Johnson but if they want to get any money out of him then they would have to sell him in January. That could mean selling him for less than they want.
Tottenham Hotspur, Fulham, Sunderland and Everton are also interested in the youngster but Man United are now favourites to sign him.
Johnson is a left winger but he can also play on the right wing. It is thought that Sir Alex Ferguson see’s him as the ideal replacement for Ryan Giggs.
Johnson has been at Middlesbrough since 2004, since then he has made 81 appearances for Boro, scoring seven goals. In 2006 he went to Leeds United on loan, he made five appearances, scoring 0 goals. In 2007, Johnson went to Watford on loan, he made 12 appearances and scored six goals.
