Ben Foster Not Leaving Man United

Man United keeper Ben Foster has recently been linked with a move away from Old Trafford. Some papers believe he will be sold to Tottenham Hotspur, others believe he will be loaned in January until the summer.

Man United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that when the January transfer window comes around, Foster won’t be going anywhere. Foster has been linked with a move away ever since he had a big drop in form for United. Whilst Edwin Van Der Sar was injured, Foster replaced him in goal and made quite a few high-profile mistakes. Since then, Van Der Sar has returned but Foster has made an appearance or two for England.

Sir Alex told the Press Association: “He is definitely staying here.
“He has had a couple of bad mistakes in games but his performance level has been very good. He will be a terrific goalkeeper.”

“Ben is a strong lad. Without doubt he is England’s best goalkeeper.
“But for a lad of 26 he has not had much game experience. That is the negative part for him and that is where maybe it will cost him his England position at the moment.”

This has to be good news for United. Foster is a good keeper and he showed that whilst playing for Watford on loan for two seasons. His problem is that Van Der Sar is a top keeper as well and he has the experience that Foster doesn’t have.

I am sure in the season’s to come we will see more and more of Foster and one day he will become United’s number one.
