Champions League Preview: Man United vs Besiktas

Man United have already qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League, a win tonight would almost guarantee us the all important top spot. An under strength Man United side will take on Besiktas looking for all three points and a good performance.

Champions League: CSKA Moscow 0-1 Manchester United

United hadn’t got off to the best start of the season performance wise but with a great performance against Chelsea and Everton, Man United fans will be hoping they can carry it on. Man United are currently sitting top of the group with three points needed to grab the top spot, we have two games left- tonight’s against Besiktas and an away game against Wolfsburg.

Sir Alex Ferguson has already confirmed that he will hand a start to 22-year old midfielder Darron Gibson. Man United may be without John O’Shea and Gary Neville who both didn’t train yesterday. We are already without Rio Ferdinand and Jonny Evans. Edwin Van Der Sar isn’t in the squad and is being rested.
Some better injury news and winger Ji-Sung Park and striker Dimitar Berbatov may return from injury and start the game.

Don’t be surprised to see names such as Gabriel Obertan, Danny Welbeck. Rafael da Silva and Federico Macheda.
Besiktas don’t have any injury doubts. Striker Bobo is likely to start, maybe alongside Nihat Kahveci. Besiktas should see the return of their goalkeeper Rustu Recber, he only made the bench when United met Besiktas earlier on in the season.
