The Mirror have claimed today that Man United are ready to prepare an offer for 21-year old Man City defender Micah Richards. Richards doesn’t often play for the first team anymore since Joleon Lescott and Kolo Toure joined Man City during the summer.

Richards has recently been linked with a move to Chelsea, Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur, how likely is it that a Man City player will join Man United?

Personally, I can’t see it happening. There was a massive fuss when Carlos Tevez joined Man City after his loan deal with Man United ran out. There is massive rivalry between the two clubs and I don’t think it will happen.

Richards is contracted with Manchester City until 2013 so if United want to make an offer, we have plenty of time. There is also a good chance that City will over price Richards and Sir Alex Ferguson has said that he won’t buy over priced players.
