Defender Nemanja Vidic has been strongly linked with a move away from Old Trafford, especially to Barcelona. Vidic has rubbished reports a few times and Man United’s response is to ask Vidic to wait for a contract renewal.

The Sun believe that Man United have asked Vidic to wait until 2011 until talks will open over a new contract. Vidic’s contract will expire in 2012 but due to the massive debt that Man United are in, the bosses have asked that no pay rises will be made unless a contract will expire within a year.

It is believed that Man United are around £690 million in debt and we have to cut that down as much as is possible. Vidic is currently being paid £70,000 a week so I can’t see why him not receiving a pay rise would be a problem. Lets just hope that by the time a new contract is on the table, he still wants to be at United.
