There has been some speculation over recent months suggesting that this may be Edwin Van Der Sar’s final season as a Man United goalkeeper. Many believe that after this season finishes, he will retire from club football. Van Der Sar has already retired from International football, is it now time for him to retire from club football?

The good news is that Man United officials are set to offer Van Der Sar another 12 month contract, which he is expected to sign. Last season Van Der Sar signed a 12 month contract, which will run out this summer and it looks like the 39-year old could sign another one.

Man United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has already stated that his replacement is already at the club. I believe that most Man United fans would love to see the keeper at United for atleast another season. Ben Foster has been a bit shaky this season, Tomasz Kuszczak has done alright but Van Der Sar is the most reliable out of those three.
