Man United Defender Wanted By Real Madrid?

Reports this morning are suggesting that Real Madrid are after another Man United player. Over the past few seasons there was a massive battle between Man United and Real Madrid over Cristiano Ronaldo. Finally during the summer of 2009, Real Madrid got their wish and signed Ronaldo for a record breaking £80 million.

Now it looks like there will be another head-to-head as Real Madrid go after one of United’s star youngsters Jonny Evans. The defender is currently out with an injury and isn’t expected to return until January, which should bother Madrid since the transfer window opens in January.

Madrid have been looking worldwide for young talented defenders to help improve their squad, Ronaldo has recommended the 21-year old to them. Evans has two years left on his contract with Man United and I think that it is incredibly unlikely that Evans will leave Old Trafford for Madrid.

Rio Ferdinand has been struggling with injuries, which means that Evans is likely to play a lot of the time, why would he want to leave? I don’t believe that Evans is one of those players who only play because of the money so that wouldn’t be a reason. Man United are just as big, if not bigger than Real Madrid and I can’t see the move happening.
