Ferdinand To Appeal Ban? Is It Worth It?

Football - Manchester United v Manchester City Carling Cup Semi Final Second Leg
Rio Ferdinand has only served one match out of the four-match ban, there are reports suggesting that he could be appeal, risking his involvement in the Carling Cup final.

Ferdinand was charged by the FA for violent conduct after an incident against Hull City. Ferdinand denied the charge and was given an extra game for a frivolous appeal. It looks like Ferdinand could appeal the extra ban, if that is deemed ‘frivolous’ aswell then he may miss the Cup final.

If the appeal is successful he would only have to serve three matches, if it isn’t then he would miss the League cup final.

Ferdinand already missed the match against Arsenal, he is going to miss the games against Portsmouth and Aston Villa. The fourth game is against Everton, I think I would prefer Ferdinand to miss the game against the Toffees and be available for the Cup game against Aston Villa.

Man United have Jonny Evans, Wes Brown and hopefully Nemanja Vidic will be fit soon. There are also other players who can cover in central defence, do we really need to risk it?
