How Much Longer Can We Defend Ronaldo?

Manchester United fans have been extremly loyal to Cristiano Ronaldo but the longer this saga goes on and the more Ronaldo speaks, how much longer can we defend him for?

After the World Cup 2006 Cristiano Ronaldo had to be the most hated man in the United Kingdom after what most people saw as Ronaldo getting Rooney sent off for stamping on Ricardo Carvalho. For me it was the famous wink to the bench, the press went crazy and apparently Ronaldo could never come back to Manchester after what he had done.
On the day that both Rooney and Ronaldo went back to training, there were helicopters over Carrington Training Ground trying to get a glimpse of both of them.
Ronaldo was booed at every single away match but United fans still stood up and sang Ronaldo's name, he was cheered whenever he played and he was idolised.
Ronaldo had a fantastic season with United winning the Premier League, runners up in the FA Cup final in the new Wembley and Semi-Finalists in the Champion's League.
Ronaldo won many awards which included the PFA Player Of The Year and the PFA Young Player Of The Year.
Summer came around and he was linked with a move away from Old Trafford but he wasn't going anywhere.
Last season United and Ronaldo had a better season, Ronaldo scored 42 goals and United won the Premier League and the European Champion's League.
United fans cheered his name, gave him a standing ovation, and whenever he had a bad game he was always clapped and cheered off. What player could ask for more?
The summer is here again (although you would never no with the weather we are having) and the transfer window is open, Ronaldo is being linked with a move away from Old Trafford again but this time he is saying that he wants to leave United for Old Trafford.
Most United fans have stuck by him upto this point but things have changed after an interview he gave to a Portugese TV station.
Sepp Blatter spoke to Sky Sports and said that footballers are being treated like 'modern slaves'. Quite how you can get a slave who is being paid thousands a week, I don't know.
The next day Ronaldo said that he agreed with Blatter's comments and he was happy to hear them.
If you speak to any Manchester United fan or look on a Manchester United forum then you cannot find anyone who is defending what he said, because you can't.
There are slaves in the world and footballers certainly aren't slaves.
I, personally am extremly disappointed in Ronaldo and I don't know how much more I can take of him. If he wants to leave then let him leave because we don't want someone at United who doesn't want to be there.
In my opinion, United are the best club for him, not because I am a United fan but because I honestly think that if he leaves United for Real Madrid he won't be the player he is here. I think he will flop just like Beckham did.

If Ronaldo stays at United, I will back him and defend him and so will many other fans, I won't have the same respect for him but he will be a United player and he will be defended.
If he leaves United, I won't have that much respoect for him because he should have come out and said what he wanted to do a lot sooner, rather than stringing everyone along.
