Blackburn v Manchester United, Premier League Preview

Today Manchester United take on Blackburn in the evening kick off, prior to this match there has been both good and bad news for Manchester United. The good- Darren Fletcher (3 years) and Paul Scholes (1 year) have signed new contracts. Rooney isn't going out to be for too long, he is expected to be fit for the England Internationals. The bad- Paul Scholes is expected to be out for around 10 weeks.

Blackburn are likely to be without goalkeeper Paul Robinson because he is out injured with a calf injury and it looks like he hasn't managed to shake it off.
McCarthy was back in training for Rovers but he is unlikely to play in the match.

United come into this match with some confidence after beating Bolton 2-0 and then Aalborg 3-0, hopefully, Dimitar Berbatov will feel more settled now he has scored 2 goals.
Rooney is in the squad but he isn't expected to feature, but you never know.

Blackburn squad: Brown, Robinson, Bunn, Nelsen, Samba, Ooijer, Warnock, Emerton, Olsson, Tugay, Derbyshire, Santa Cruz, Villanueva, Fowler, Andrews, Fowler, Grella, Treacy, Pedersen.

Man Utd squad: Van der Sar, Amos, Neville, Brown, Rafael, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evans, Evra, Ronaldo, O'Shea, Fletcher, Anderson, Giggs, Nani, Tevez, Berbatov, Rooney, Welbeck.

Managers:
Paul Ince:
"This is the exciting thing about coming to the Premier League. It's a chance to pit yourself against Sir Alex Ferguson, the manager of all time as far as I'm concerned.
"Fergie has such high standards. I played under a lot of managers but they don't come close. That is no disrespect to them because I don't think anybody does.
"But it's not about me and it's not about Alex Ferguson, it's about the 22 players that go out on the pitch and hopefully we will perform."

Sir Alex Ferguson:
"It is not strange offering advice to a rival. It does not matter to me at all. That is what I am there for with the experience I have got.
"A lot of managers have asked my advice over the years. It is part of helping people to get on in the game.
"At the end of the day it is how you tell your own story and how you impart your knowledge to players that counts."

Last season Manchester United had to score a late goal (Carlos Tevez) to get a draw out of this match, which became extremly important in the title race, hopefully this season we can go to Ewood Park and pick up all three points because we cannot afford to drop anymore points.
