More Controversy In A Manchester United Match

Before yesterdays match Manchester United fans would be forgiven if they were a little wary about it. Manchester United had only won once in ten years at Ewood Park against Blackburn.

The surprise team news from United was that Wayne Rooney was fit and he was starting the match, I like most people thought that Rooney was a major doubt and had basically been ruled out of the game.
Poor Tevez was on the bench even though when he plays he puts in a fantastic performance. It is difficult though choosing between Ronaldo, Tevez, Rooney and Berbatov.

With all of the attacking power we have, it was nearly Nemanja Vidic who opened up the scoring, from a corner he didn’t quite get the touch on the ball that he needed and the ball went wide of the post.

14 minutes in and Matt Derbyshire nearly put Rovers in front when his low shot was saved by Van Der Sar, but this was only one of a few chances that Rovers had.
Darren Fletcher was put in on goal, he should have scored but his effort went just wide, Giggs also had a chance but his shot was fantastically saved by Brown (the Blackburn goalie, not Wes Brown).

Half an hour into the match and United should definitely have been ahead but then came a goal which was scored by an unlikely player, Rooney’s corner caused problems in the Blackburn penalty area and at the far post, there was Wes Brown to head the ball into the back of the net.

This goal caused controversy, Brown (the goalie) claimed that Vidic fouled him and put his elbow into his throat. I have seen the goal and I think that it was a foul by Vidic but Brown (goalie) did say after the match that he knew he was fouled but he thought that it could have been by one of his own players, which the officials could have thought aswell.
Anyway, Manchester United were 1-0 up and we thoroughly deserved it.
Before half time J.Brown saved well at Rooney’s feet and there was an average save by Van Der Sar from a Roque Santa Cruz shot.

Second half and what we really needed was a second goal because it was still only 1-0 and at 1-0 it only takes a split second to score a goal and change a match.
Around 15 minutes into the second half came a fantastic goal from Manchester United, it was worked out of defence and in 18 seconds (thanks to Match Of The Day for that information) it was into the back of Blackburn’s net.
Wes Brown burst out of the defence, he found Ronaldo who went past Olsen and fed the ball to Rooney who shot and nestled the ball into the top corner, fantastic goal and three goals in three matches for Wayne Rooney.

Carlos Tevez was brought on and we had Rooney, Tevez, Ronaldo and Berbatov up front for United, but with all of those attacking players the match finished 2-0.
Tevez, who I think thoroughly deserves a goal, struck the post from 20 yards out and Blackburn were lucky that the match finished only 2-0 to Manchester United.
After the match we went straight upto sixth in the Premier League table and I could be wrong but that is the highest in the table that we have been in so far this season.
