Manchester United v LDU Quito, match review

Champion's of England, Champion's of Europe and now Champion's of The World, yes, that is right, Manchester United are Champion's of the world- sounds great doesn't it?
Four changes were made from the team who won the semi-final, Rooney, Park, Rafael and Anderson all started.

It wasn't all fantastic for Man United, just four minutes into the second half, Nemanja Vidic was sent off for an elbow on a LDU Quito player. It was a deserved red card and I have no complaints about it, modern day footballers know that an elbow means a straight red card and that is what Vidic got.

Another downside is that Vidic will now miss the first Champion's League leg against Inter Milan and he could face another two matches after that.

Manchester United looked comfortable throughout the first half, we had a few wasted chances and the goalkeeper had to make a few saves.

During the second half and Man United being down to 10 men, we saw a lot more of LDU Quito but we did have our own chances and Rooney made one of those into a goal.

75 minutes into the match it looked like it could go into extra time and penalties but Rooney and Ronaldo combined together and Rooney smashed the ball into the back of the net which gave United the winner.

We did waste a few great chances, most notably a chance which Park had and if it had fallen to either Ronaldo or Rooney then I think it would have been a goal.

Ronaldo was showboating throughout the whole of the match, some paid off, others didn't. It was good to see Ronaldo with a bit of sparkle again, time and time again he carved through the defence at ease.

Tevez found himself in on goal three times but the keeper matched hit shots, when Vidic was sent off, it was Tevez who made way for Evans which is a shame because I think that Berbatov will be fit for Friday's match against Stoke so it would have been nice for Tevez to have a bit longer.

Overall I think we deserved the win and it is brilliant that they boys are coming back from Japan with a trophy and the title of being the best team in the world.

It is also nice to say that Manchester United are the first British team to win the World Club Championship.
