Rooney back to his best

We started to look like the team we were at the start of the season again on Saturday. We looked dangerous and we looked like we could score with every attack and it was all down to one man who ran the show all day Wayne Rooney.

Yes the others played well but Rooney ran the show as was the true stand out player in a Manchester United shirt.

Rooney was playing wide left, a position that he has often failed to shine in before but looked like a natural and was the driving force for the team creating chances and having some moments of absolute magic.

This is the Rooney we know he is and he now looks more comfortable in any position sir Alex chooses to play him. Rooney is one of the top players in the world but often goes through frustrating spells where things just don’t happen for him, however he is again playing with a smile on his face and he truly is back to his best.

I don’t want to tempt fate on this but Rooney also appears to have matured. I am referring to the altercation with the Boro defender that temperamental Rooney would have lashed out at, but he didn’t and this just goes to show that Rooney is starting to come into his own and mature as a player.
