Tevez, Are You Staying Or Going?

Football - Wigan Athletic v Manchester United Barclays Premier League

Last night was a bit puzzling when it came to Carlos Tevez' future. After the win over Wigan, Sir Alex Ferguson spoke to the press and said that Man United are in talks with Tevez over his permanent future at Old Trafford. Later on SkySportsNews spoke on the phone live to Tevez' advisor who said that there had been no offer.

Ferguson said during an interview: “I have had a chat with Carlos and he knows I want him to stay.
“Our chief executive David Gill has also had a good meeting to progress things further. I hope we can get what we want, which has never changed.
“The thing is we are not negotiating with a football club. But he has been offered a good deal, which we hope he accepts.”

“Carlos is a fantastic little player. The fans love him because he is a trier.
“He has great skill, of course, but he never gives in and that is a great quality to have in the modern game. He has a hunger to fight all the time and it is a wonderful thing to see.”

Minutes later Kia Joorabchian responded by saying: “No offer of personal terms has been made. We had a chat with David Gill but no offer was made.”

What is going on?

We all know that Tevez would like to stay at the club, the fans want him to stay at the club and by the sound of it last night Fergie wants him to stay at the club. So what is the problem?
Is it the money? The amount of money was sorted out two years ago, surely United wouldn't have sorted out a sum if they can't pay it.
We also spent around £32 million on Dimitar Berbatov, you can't tell me that Tevez isn't worth £30 million.

This needs to be sorted out and the sooner the better, I don't want to see such a great player at one of our rivals next season.
