United Will Play Fair

This Sunday will see the final Premier League matches of the 08/09 season, Manchester United have already been crowned as Champion's and we face Hull, who could be relegated. Much talk before the game has been about what side Sir Alex will send out.

There were reports that if Fergie sends out a weakened Man United team then Sunderland, Newcastle and Middlesbrough (who could all be relegated) would sue United- these reports were rubbished by the clubs.

How would you define a weakened Manchester United team? Macheda, Kuszczak, Rafael, Welbeck, Fabio, Evans, Nani and Anderson could all come in but that hasn't weakened the team. Any team that Fergie puts out will try and win the match to prove to the boss that they are good enough to wear the Man United shirt.

I don't like the way that Manchester United and Sir Alex Ferguson's integrity has been questioned over the last week. Any Manchester United team that takes to the field will play to win the match no matter whether they are senior players or youngsters.

These youngsters have beaten a full strength Blackburn team in the Carling Cup, they have won the Carling Cup and they also got to the semi-finals of the FA Cup, unfortunately loosing to Everton on penalties.

Newcastle face an Aston Villa side who don't have anything to play for, Sunderland face Chelsea who don't have anything to play for and Middlesbrough face West Ham who also have nothing to play for. Why haven't these clubs been questioned? Yes, we have a Champion's League match three days later but I am sure that Chelsea don't want any of their stars injured before the FA Cup final which is the following weekend.

One Response so far.
