Ferguson vs Ferguson

Football - Peterborough United v Leicester City Coca
Man United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is set to go head-to-head with his son and Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson for the signing of Josh Thompson.

Thompson is only 18-years-old but he looks like he has a successful career in football ahead of him. Thompson is a defender and he currently plays for Stockport.

Man United are preparing to put a £250,000 bid in for the player, with the fee rising to £500,000 depending on performances.

Peterborough are expected to talk to the player and guarantee him first team football which is what Man United can't do.

This is going to be a tough choice for the kid, maybe Man United could sign him and then loan him out to Peterborough. Then Stockport get a good amount of money, the player can put on his CV that he has been a Man United player and he also gets to go and play first team football. I am not sure if Peterborough would be quite so happy with that though.

One Response so far.
