Fergie Warns Birmingham

MANCHESTER UNITED V VALENCIA CF

Man United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has fired a warning to Man United’s first opponents in the new Premier League season. Sir Alex has revealed he is ready to unleash the Man United players after three months of torment.

As you can probably remember (I have managed to push it to the back of my mind, just!) around three months ago Man United lost miserably to Barcelona in the Champion’s League final in Rome. Fergie has said that the players are still frustrated and hurt and they are ready to take that out on Birmingham on Sunday.

What about all the pre-season matches and the Community Shield? I can understand pre-season matches are friendly but if they players were so hurt why didn’t they take it out on Chelsea?

Sir Alex said:

"Adversity is always an important factor in developing and improving.
"I've always reacted well to adversity over the years and whenever we lose a match I tell my players that the next game is the important one.
"That's the match we have to focus on. That's always been the case here at this club.
"When you lose the last game of the season you have two or three months to reflect on the disappointment and we haven't enjoyed that. But we'll cope, and we'll bounce back."
