Newcastle have finally made a signing this summer. Man United defender Danny Simpson has gone out on loan to Newcastle until January.

Simpson has had loan spells at Royal Antwerp, Sunderland, Ipswich and Blackburn since signing with the United academy in July 2003. Simpson has only managed to make eight first team appearances for Man United and it was thought that Sir Alex Ferguson was going to sell him this summer.

Simpson struggled last season to get into a Blackburn side and I was half expected to see him sold. Instead he has gone out on loan so he will gain first team experience and we will get to see if he improves.
