Tonight Carling Cup holders Man United will kick start their campaign into retaining the trophy. Tonight Wolves travel to Old Trafford to try and knock the Champion’s out of the cup.
After scoring the winning goal for Man United against Man City on Sunday, Michael Owen is expected to start upfront for United. After having a couple of horrible moments for United, many believe that Ben Foster will be dropped and Tomasz Kuszczak will step-up.
Sir Alex will probably put out quite a few youngsters but may’be a few experienced players. I wouldn’t be surprised to see any of these players- Kiko Macheda, Danny Welbeck, Luis Nani, Anderson, Darren Gibson, Jonny Evans. Mayb’e we will also see Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Wes Brown and Gary Neville.
Wolves are expected to start Michael Kightly and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake who have both just returned from injury. Stefan Maierhofer could make his full debut for the club- so far he has only made two substitute appearances so far.
I don’t know what side Sir Alex will put out, it is never easy to predict but what we should expect is some youngsters. The younger players will be wanting to prove themselves so can they do what they did last season and go all the way to the final?
I am predicting a 3-1 Man United win.
