Not Enough Evidence To Charge United

Last month Italian side Fiorentina reported Man United to FIFA after they claim that United poached a 16-year old Michele Fornasier who had already agreed to join Fiorentina.

It now looks like Man United won’t face any action from FIFA after Fiorentina haven’t supplied sufficient evidence to support their claim. Man United’s response was that they signed Fornasier legally.

It is now claimed that Fornasier was not tied to any contract with Fiorentina, FIFA have confirmed this and Man United had every right to sign the player.

A Fifa spokesman said: "We can confirm that we were contacted by Fiorentina with regard to the potential transfer of the player, Michele Fornasier, to Manchester United.

"However, no formal investigation has been opened since the documentation currently in our possession, from a purely formal point of view, is not apt to sustain such action."

Before all this trouble with Fiorentina and Fornasier came up, French side Le Havre claimed that United had poached a teenager called Paul Pogba off them. Despite all the reports, FIFA have confirmed that Le Havre haven’t contacted them.

"So far, no contractual claim against the player Paul Pogba and/or the club Manchester United has been lodged by the French club, Le Havre, at Fifa.
"The matter we are currently investigating concerns the request for intervention submitted by the Football Association on behalf of its member club, Manchester United, in relation to the international clearance for the player in question, following the refusal of the French Football Federation to issue the international transfer certificate of the player."

Hopefully that is the end of it now, I don’t think that Man United will poach a player. They don’t need to bribe players or anything like that. We are a massive worldwide club and players want to join us, unlike Man City- we don’t need to bribe players.
