A Fantastic Man United Performances Gives Us 3 Points

Yesterday, Man United put in a fantastic performance after going 1-0 behind to leave White Hart Lane with all three points. Many Man United fans weren’t happy with Fergie’s starting XI but he showed us all exactly why he is the boss.

Tottenham went 1-0 up only 38 seconds into the match. I said before the game that if Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic had to keep on eye on anyone, it would have to be Jermain Defoe and his goal was 100% class. Defoe acrobatically hit the ball past Ben Foster from Peter Crouch’s ball in with an overhead kick.

Minutes later, Tottenham could have gone 2-0 up when all Defoe had to do was touch the ball and it would have gone in. Replays did show that Defoe was offside so if he did touch it, hopefully the offside flag would have gone up.

Man United got off to a shaky start but the old boys Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs were gradually bringing United back into the match. 25 minutes into the game, Dimitar Berbatov was fouled by Wilson Palacios- which earn’t him a yellow card. Wayne Rooney ran over the ball and Giggs hit a stunning free kick into the top right corner to draw Man United level.

After that goal, Man United were amazing to watch. There was one moment when I couldn’t believe that the ball didn’t go over the line. Carlo Cudicini saved Rooney’s shot it rebounded to Berbatov and his shot was blocked on the line, he then received the ball again and he smashed his shot just over the bar.

United’s second goal came from a corner, Scholes shot hit Ledley King and rebounded away, Anderson then scored his first ever competitive goal for Man United when his low shot went pas Cudicini.

After half time, Harry Redknapp brought on Jermaine Jenas who almost helped Spurs draw level. Jenas teed up Robbie Keane but his shot took a deflection off Nemanja Vidic and went over for a corner.

Not long after that, Jenas brought out world class save out of Ben Foster. Jenas’ 25-yard shot was tipped away by Foster.
Crouch came incredibly close to getting an equaliser when he hit the crossbar but it was Man United who went on to get another.

Before the goal, Man United were down to 10 men. Scholes was sent off for a second bookable offence, the second yellow was incredibly harsh but he was shown it after colliding with Tom Huddlestone. He wasn't helped by Huddlestone who made a meal of it.

The third goal came when Darren Fletcher’s long ball fell to Rooney who went past Alan Hutton and put the ball between goalie Cudicini.

Overall, it was a really, really good performance by Man United and bring on Man City next weekend.
