In 1994 the Liverpool crowd decided to taunt Man United fans by putting out a banner which read- ‘Au revoir Cantona and Man United… come back when you’ve won 18’.
Man United have now equalised Liverpool’s record of 18 League titles. Tomorrow Man United will be returning to Anfield for the first time since winning 18 league titles.
Since 1994, Man United has gone on to win nine league titles whilst Liverpool have won none. We now sit alongside them on 18 and we are in better shape than Liverpool to go on and win a record breaking 19 this season.
Last weekend, Sunderland beat Liverpool 1-0 thanks to a Liverpool fan who decided to throw a beach ball onto the pitch. All inflatable’s have been banned but I am sure that some fans will be able to get one or two into the stadium.
So to celebrate that, Man United fans will be wearing Eric Cantona masks and fans will also be trying to smuggle in beach balls.
