Premier League Preview: Liverpool vs Manchester United

Tomorrow Man United take on a Liverpool side who have been beaten four times in a row. Form goes out of the window because it is such a massive game. Last weeks 1-0 loss for Liverpool and 2-1 win for United will be thrown out of the window.

Liverpool played at Anfield on Tuesday night whilst Man United had to fly to Russia to play CSKA Moscow on Wednesday. I am slightly worried about this, United had a long way to fly and we aren’t always at our best following a Champions League away game.

Beach balls are banned but I am sure that one or two will get inside the ground. There will be more than one or two outside the ground. Eric Cantona mask’s are not banned, if you aren’t aware why United fans would be wearing them- you can find out by clicking here.

Liverpool should have their star striker Fernando Torres fit and ready, which will be a massive boost for him. Glen Johnson is slightly more doubtful to start but he is still expected to.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is also doubtful after suffering a reoccurring groin injury during a loss to Lyon in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Man United gaffer Sir Alex Ferguson has said that Wayne Rooney faces an’ uphill fight’ to be fit for tomorrow. Darren Fletcher is also a doubt but there is a bit of good news. In form midfielder Ryan Giggs has recovered from an injury and so has defender Patrice Evra.

Liverpool may have lost four on the trot but they will be well up for tomorrow’s game and I think that could prove to be more dangerous for United. They can’t get a much bigger game than this to prove themselves.

My predicted Man United starting XI- Edwin Van Der Sar, Patrice Evra, Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic, John O’Shea, Antonio Valencia, Paul Scholes, Michael Carrick, Antonio Valencia, Dimitar Berbatov and Michael Owen.

My predicted scoreline- I would love to say a Man United win but I think it will be a draw- Liverpool 1-1 Manchester United.
