Yorke Couldn't Have Done A Tevez

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE 98/99 FINALE

Former Man United player Dwight Yorke has said that he could never have done what Carlos Tevez has done. Tevez left United in the summer after being offered a contract but he decided to go to Man City- United’s rivals.

May think that he left United and went to City because of the money, he would never admit it though. Yorke has said that he could never leave one of the worlds best clubs whilst he was in the prime of his career.

"Things have changed,'' Yorke said. "But I know when I was at the peak of my career there is no way I would have left the best team in the world. Manchester City are a big club. Yes, they have a lot of money now and you can see they are making an impact."

"But really there is no comparison. You want your name to be associated with a global giant. Manchester United is that club. There is nowhere else like it. And it is still that way.
"Everywhere I go, people acknowledge the fact I played for Manchester United. It affords you a privilege you would not get anywhere else.''

I understood why he left United but he did have the choice to go to Liverpool. He turned Liverpool down because they were United’s rivals but so are City. That didn’t make sense to me. Was that a cover up, did he really want to go to City because of the money?
