Carling Cup Draw: Man City vs Man United

After Manchester City beat Arsenal 3-0 last night, the Carling Cup semi-final draw was made. Aston Villa were drawn against Blackburn/Chelsea (they were still playing at that point- Blackburn won 4-3 on penalties) and Man City were drawn against Man United.

MANCHESTER CITY V GLASGOW CELTICThe two-legged ties will be played in the weeks beginning January 4th and January 18th.

Man City manager Mark Hughes was confident after the game, he told Sky Sports: "We are just taking in the events of this evening but they're going to be two fantastic games and the whole of Manchester will be tuning in and looking forward to some fantastic games.
"Over two games we'd fancy our chances against anyone left in the draw, so bring them on."

I think it will be more that just the whole of Manchester but these will be two fiery games. Will Sir Alex Ferguson carry on playing the youngsters? Man City played a fairly strong team against the Arsenal youngsters last night.

Semi final ties-

Man City vs Man United
Blackburn vs Aston Villa

Man City and Blackburn will play the first games at home, the second legs will be at Old Trafford and Villa Park.

Finally, congratulations to Blackburn, Chelsea had become a bit to cocky for my liking and this might just shut them up a bit.
