According to The Daily Star, Sir Alex Ferguson may have his two first choice centre-backs fit to play Manchester City. Tomorrow Man United take on Man City in the first of two parts of a Carling Cup tie.

The Daily Star believe that Rio Ferdinand could be fit for the first time in three months. They also believe that Nemanja Vidic may have recovered from an injury he suffered before United’s 1-0 loss to Leeds in the FA Cup.

Over recent months Man United have been struggling to get any defenders on the field, only Patrice Evra has been a permanent member to the side. If this is true and both players are fit then it is a massive boost ahead of the game.
