Wayne Rooney's Here To Stay

Sports News - January 24, 2010
Last night Man United striker Wayne Rooney confirmed that he will be staying at Old Trafford. Rooney has been linked with a move to either Barcelona or Real Madrid but that won’t be happening.

Rooney said: "There's always speculation and when other big teams are talking about you it's nice.
"But as I've said many times before, I am a United player and I am very happy at Old Trafford."

It has been pointed out by many people that Rooney is basically saying the same as Cristiano Ronaldo did. Ronaldo left in the summer but I think that every Man United fan knew that it was only a matter of time until Ronaldo left, it isn’t like that with Rooney.

Rooney went on to talk about United going for an unprecedented fourth straight title win.

Rooney added: "We've won the League for the last three years and nobody has ever won four in a row. We want to create history.
"The title race is much tighter this year and it's probably more exciting for the neutrals or fans around the country.
"But we're hoping that now we are top we can go on and remain there for the rest of the season."
