Welbeck has played games for Man United’s first team but he was never really going to get a long run in the side this season, so he has joined Darren Ferguson’s team.
Welbeck is a very promising player and I think some time out on loan with Preston will do him some good. United have Dimitar Berbatov, Wayne Rooney, Michael Owen, Federico Macheda and now Mame Biram Diouf. So hopefully some first team action with a Championship team will give him some much needed experience.
