Do City Have A Point?

Manchester City are complaining about why Shaun Wright-Phillips was given a three match ban after he kicked out against Stoke's Rory Delap but why wasn't Cristiano Ronaldo given a ban after kicking out at Blackburn's David Dunn.

I cant' help to feel that they might have a point but the last thing I want is Ronaldo to be banned now.
It isn't the first time this season that he has kicked out at another player and he has to stop it because it will get him sent off, from now to the end of the season we need our top players because every match is vital.

The only reason I can think of is because the referee at the Stoke/City match said that he if he had seen the incident then he would have booked him, possibly the referee at the Blackburn/Man United match said that if he saw the incident he wouldn't have booked him.
The Wright-Phillips sending off was also more high profile because Delap got sent off in the same incident.

"We were disappointed Shaun got the three games as we felt there were mitigating circumstances. There seems to have been similar situations in recent days that haven’t been punished as hard," Hughes said in The Daily Mail.

"The opportunity to retrace steps on that one has been missed. The referee [in the United game] has obviously said he’s seen it at the time and didn’t think it merited a sending-off. We felt hard done by, we made our feelings known, but there we go."
