On the 2nd March this year I wrote a blog post saying that Bayern Munich player Frank Ribery was being lined up to replace Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Guardian this morning claim that Man United have put in a bid of £63 million for the midfielder and sources in Germany have confirmed that Bayern have received the offer.
Personally I don't believe that this means the end of Ronaldo at Man United, if Ribery does come to United I still believe that Ronaldo will be a United player next season.
The only thing that makes me wonder about this story is where did Man United get the £63m from?
If Man United can afford to pay that amount for Ribery, why aren't we paying that amount for Carlos Tevez?
This could just be a paper trying to sell a story, I think Ronaldo will stay and the only way I can see Man United coming up with that amount of money would be from the sale of Ronaldo.
all you guys are forgetting that united has a new major sponsor deal... with a new sponsor deal comes a bigger income. so why question where united got 63m euros from... after al they are the richest club in the world
Hi Anonymous, thanks for your comment.
That is a very valid point but on the other hand you have to remember that Man United are heavily in debt with figures around 800million pounds being banded around. Surely some of the money will go to paying that off.
