Premier League Preview: Manchester United vs Manchester City

Tomorrow is one of Man United’s biggest matches of the season- Manchester City visit Old Trafford. There has been mind-games flying between Sir Alex Ferguson and Mark Hughes before the game and hopefully tomorrow’s match won’t disappoint.

It looks like Carlos Tevez is fit to face his former club, he has declared himself fit. If he does play, it wouldn’t surprise me it he scored against us. Will the fans boo or cheer him? When he first left I would have said cheer but the things that he has said, I think he will be booed.

City will definitely be without in-form striker Emmanuel Adebayor after what happened against Arsenal last weekend. I don’t think I need to get into it but a three-match ban was correct. I would have liked him to play against us though, so when we beat them City fan’s can’t say that we only beat them because their first choice strikers weren’t out there.

City have got off to a better start to the season than United, they still have a 100% record. Saying that, they have played one game less than us which they could loose or drop points

Man United have no injury worries after the midweek game out in Turkey against Besiktas. The only doubt that we have is Rio Ferdinand, he is a major doubt and I would be surprised if he started.

Man United will be without Paul Scholes after his fairly harsh red card against Tottenham last weekend.

City defender Micah Richards has recovered from tonsillitis so he is set to start and it also looks like Steven Ireland will have recovered from an injury in time for kick-off.

Ahead of the game, both managers have been playing some mind-games. No surprise there but it is funny.

Sir Alex has branded City as a small club with a small mentality (have we heard that before? I am sure Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez said that about Everton).

City think they have already got one over United- the signing of Tevez. Sir Alex has come out and said that if United really wanted him- they would have tried harder to sign him. Ouch!

There is no doubting that tomorrow’s game will be a good one, it will be fiery and I am sure that a few dodgy tackles will be flying in. I can’t wait!
