A win for Man United tonight will take them to the Premier League, for at least 15 minutes with Chelsea kicking off 15 minutes later. Aston Villa have already beaten Man United at Old Trafford earlier on in the season but the United men and starting to hit some form.
United have scored 15 goals in their last four Premier League games and Villa have failed to score in their last three home league games. With Wayne Rooney being in what he believes to be the form of his career, which is difficult to argue with, I’m predicting a Man United win. It will be a difficult game, Villa are looking to break into the top four but United have to win and I believe they will.
Striker Emile Heskey is a doubt after limping out of Villa’s 0-0 draw with Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday. Villa are definitely without Stephen Warnock who is suffering with a calf injury and Nigel Reo-Coker who is a long term absentee.
Man United still have defensive problems with Rio Ferdinand serving the third of four match bans and Nemanja Vidic is still suffering with a leg injury. Rafael da Silva is a doubt, if he is fit then I would expect him to start, if not then we will probably see Gary Neville.
Predicted Man United line-up: Edwin Van Der Sar, Rafael da Silva, Wes Brown, Jonny Evans, Patrice Evra, Antonio Valencia, Michael Carrick, Paul Scholes, Luis Nani, Ryan Giggs and Wayne Rooney.
Predicted fulltime result: Aston Villa 1-2 Man United
